WORDPRESS / DIAGNOSE. REPAIR. MAINTAIN.
A slow homepage, a plugin conflict, a form that has gone quiet. WordPress problems rarely arrive with a useful explanation. I help you understand the cause, agree the right repair and keep the site in shape afterwards.
WordPress · Shopify · Squarespace
WordPress is flexible enough to run a simple service website, a busy publishing operation or an online store. That flexibility also means your site can contain years of decisions made by different people. A theme chosen for one business direction, a page builder added later, two plugins doing similar jobs and a hosting plan nobody has reviewed can all sit in the same installation. The first job is to understand what is actually there.
I begin with the public website and the customer journey. Can a visitor tell what you do? Can they use the main pages on a phone? Do key links lead somewhere useful? The automated check adds evidence from the pages it can fetch and the performance measurements available. It is a starting point for a repair conversation, not a reason to delete half your plugins on sight.
A large hero image, late-loading fonts or expensive scripts can delay useful content. The hosting response may also contribute. I look for the part of the loading sequence that creates the delay, then test changes against a baseline. Installing another optimisation plugin without that context can create more settings to untangle.
Plugin count alone does not tell you whether a site is healthy. The more useful questions are what each plugin does, whether it is still supported and what depends on it. With authorised access, I can map those relationships, remove agreed duplication and verify the workflows affected.
A service page may have an unhelpful title, a missing description or an accidental noindex directive. A migration may have left redirects or canonical links pointing at the wrong address. These are specific configuration and content problems. They deserve a targeted fix rather than an unsupported promise to rank first.
A form can appear in the page source and still fail to deliver an enquiry. A public scan cannot prove that delivery works. During an agreed conversion repair, I can test the actual route with permission, inspect the stored submission and check the sending setup. The result is a documented workflow, not simply a green tick.
Updates, backups and licences need an owner. A useful maintenance arrangement defines who checks compatibility, where backups are stored and what happens if an update fails. I make those responsibilities explicit so that your website is not depending on someone remembering to log in occasionally.
WordPress repair can involve theme code, plugins, hosting and database changes, but those are separate layers. A public scan cannot establish the PHP configuration, full installed plugin inventory or absence of malware. Security incidents and complicated integrations require access-based investigation. I will explain what I need and what I can safely promise before agreeing the work.
If you use a page builder, that is part of the diagnosis. The right answer might be a lighter page, a narrower asset footprint or a carefully scoped rebuild. It does not automatically mean abandoning every existing layout. We also account for the people who edit the website: a technically elegant repair is less useful if routine updates become a daily frustration.
The free check shows an automated score and up to three findings. The $29 teardown unlocks the measured evidence, explanations, practical DIY guides and a shortlist of related fixes. You get a private report link and a branded PDF, with 12 months of online access. You can use the report yourself or share it with your existing developer.
If you want me to do the work, select the relevant packages and send the request for review. I confirm what is included, what access is needed and when the work can start. The approved scope and price come before the payment link. A repair request does not automatically charge your card or create a subscription.
Several repairs can sometimes add up to a substantial project. When that happens, I compare the two options openly. A rebuild may offer better value if the underlying layout or content structure is the problem. A focused repair may be the sensible choice if the rest of the site serves the business well. Crossing a price threshold is a reason to compare, not proof that a rebuild is cheaper.
My WordPress work includes projects such as Johanna Clark Hair, LaRaj Tile & Marble and Gary The Trainer. The work section describes the documented scope. Where comparable before-and-after measurements are not available, I do not manufacture performance numbers to fill a case-study template.
Care plans add regular checks and a defined allowance for improvements. Basic uptime checks and monthly rescans can flag changes worth investigating. They do not make a website infallible, and they do not replace checking the business’s most important workflows. The plan is reviewed against your website before a recurring subscription begins.
You will know how much time is available each month and what the agreed priorities are. If the work needed is larger than that allowance, I explain the options before taking it on. The aim is a manageable relationship where small issues get attention and bigger decisions are made with enough information.
Tell me what you are seeing: a page that feels slow, enquiries that have stopped, a confusing mobile layout or a feature that behaves differently from last week. A useful starting point is the page address and a short description of what you expected to happen. Please keep passwords out of the enquiry form; access arrangements come after we agree the work.
Before work starts, we agree the pages and functions that matter most. I ask for the smallest appropriate access needed to carry out the job, and we identify who can approve changes. Where the platform supports it, work is checked on a staging copy or unpublished theme before it reaches customers. That gives us a practical place to test without turning the live business into an experiment.
The handover explains the work delivered and any remaining limitations. If a finding needs a different specialist or a larger investigation, I say so rather than counting it as fixed. You also get a clear explanation of what to watch afterwards, including any settings that should not be changed casually. This is particularly useful when several people update the website or install marketing tools.
A website address, a short description of the problem and the outcome you want are enough to begin. If there is a specific deadline, tell me before the quote is approved. Later, I may need access to the relevant platform account, confirmation of business details and permission to run a labelled test through a form or customer journey. I will explain those requests in context.
You remain in control of the decision. The report is yours to use, the repair shortlist is optional and an ongoing care plan is a separate commitment. My job is to make the next step understandable and the agreed work accountable.

All plans require a site review. Monthly hours are the total monthly allowance and do not roll over. Annual billing gives 12 months for the price of 10. Platform subscriptions, licences and hosting are separate unless expressly included in your scope.
Send your website address and a short description of what needs attention through the contact form. Chris will review your enquiry and explain the next step before any paid work begins.
Automated scans and paid report checkout are not available yet. For now, use the contact form to request a review. Chris will confirm the proposed scope and any price before you decide to proceed.
No. Your selection creates a review request. Chris checks the website and confirms the included work, exclusions, price and timing before sending a payment link.
Yes, within each platform’s supported capabilities. The fix menu shows which packages apply. Some work, such as WordPress hosting migration, does not apply to hosted Shopify or Squarespace sites.
No. A score highlights checks worth investigating. Several findings may be resolved by one package. When repair costs become substantial, Chris compares the actual scope with a rebuild.
The paid teardown is planned but is not available to purchase yet. Any future report pricing and eligible repair credit will be confirmed before payment.
Delivered fixes have a 14-day workmanship guarantee covering regression of the work delivered. Subsequent changes by clients or third parties are excluded. Rebuilds have a separate 30-day workmanship warranty.
Yes. Cancelling stops future renewal. Monthly plans continue through the paid billing period. Annual plans provide the agreed year of service and stop renewing at the end of that term; prepaid time is not automatically refunded.
