Privacy notice
Chris Hurst operates Chris Hurst Design from Wharton, New Jersey. Contact chris@chrishurstdesign.com with privacy questions or requests relating to your information.
Information collected
The website collects the information you submit in a scan, enquiry, repair request or care-plan application. This can include your name, email address, website URL, project notes and requested services. The scanning system records findings, measurements, dates, detected platform and project status. The host may maintain ordinary server and security logs.
Anonymous scan requests can be recorded against a website domain. An email address is optional for viewing a free result. Email is required to receive emailed results, purchase a teardown or submit a project request. Please do not include passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information in enquiry fields.
How the information is used
Information is used to run the requested checks, deliver reports, review scope, process payments, communicate about projects and provide agreed monitoring. Requests are also protected by rate limits and other abuse controls. Optional follow-up messages and monthly monitoring require the relevant preference to be selected and the email address confirmed.
Service providers
Google PageSpeed Insights receives the website URL when performance measurements are requested. If the optional AI interpretation is enabled, Anthropic receives selected website findings to produce a plain-English summary. Stripe handles checkout and subscription billing; this site does not store full card numbers. The hosting and configured email providers process information needed to run the website and deliver messages. Their own privacy policies also apply to their services.
Private reports and project links
Reports and project pages use unguessable private links. Anyone you give a link to may be able to view its contents or access the associated project and billing controls. Treat these links as confidential. Private routes are excluded from indexing and caching, but that does not make a link safe to publish publicly.
Cookies and analytics
The installation uses cookies needed for WordPress administration and any active form, security or platform functionality. This site loads Google Analytics through Google Site Kit to measure website use. When analytics runs, Google processes usage and device/browser information. Stripe’s checkout and billing portal may use their own cookies. If analytics or advertising tools are added later, this notice and any required consent controls should be updated to describe the actual setup.
Retention
Paid online reports remain accessible for 12 months. Unpaid scan records are normally eligible for cleanup after 90 days unless associated with an ongoing request or confirmed monitoring. Active monitoring keeps the latest relevant record. Project and payment records may be retained for fulfilment, accounting and resolving disputes. Expired reports are not automatically deleted when access ends; contact Chris to request a retention review.
The configured email queue removes older sent or cancelled message records during routine cleanup. Contact-form submissions may remain in the website’s enquiry records until reviewed or deleted. Retention depends on the purpose of the record and any applicable obligations.
Your choices
Optional emails and monitoring can be changed using the preferences link in those messages. Purchase and project messages are separate from marketing preferences. You can request access, correction or deletion of personal information by email. Some transaction records may need to be retained; Chris will explain the position when responding.
Security and changes
Access to administration is restricted to authorised users. API credentials are stored server-side, and sensitive settings are encrypted using the installation’s secret configuration. No internet service can promise absolute security. This notice should be reviewed when the site’s tools, providers or data practices change.
