THE WEBSITE WORKSHOP
Make a phone number useful on mobile
A phone number can be readable without being easy to use. Where phone enquiries are appropriate, a clear call link reduces unnecessary copying and switching between apps.
1. Use the correct number
Confirm the number with the business owner and include the appropriate country code in the link destination.
2. Keep the label readable
Display a familiar, human-readable number or an explicit call action. Do not hide the only contact route in an icon without a label.
3. Test on a phone
Activate the link and confirm it opens the expected calling action. Check that the number is correct before placing a test call.
4. Respect the service context
If the business does not accept calls, provide a clear alternative. A booking form or email route can be the appropriate main action.
When to ask for help
Stop if the change affects a critical workflow, requires access you do not have or produces a result you cannot explain. Keep the original evidence and a restorable backup. A short, well-defined repair request is easier to review than a series of speculative changes.
Related repair: request a scope review. Choose your platform on the request form; availability and price are confirmed before payment.
