THE WEBSITE WORKSHOP

Check whether a page is asking to stay out of search

A noindex instruction may be intentional on a private, duplicate or temporary page. Check its purpose before removing it.

1. Identify the exact URL

A staging URL, filtered collection and main service page can have different indexing intentions. Record the address that was flagged.

2. Inspect the directive

Check the page’s robots meta tag and relevant response headers. Use the platform’s search settings to understand where the instruction comes from.

3. Check related signals

The canonical destination, sitemap inclusion and internal links should support the intended public page. Contradictory signals deserve a closer review.

4. Verify after publication

Recheck the live output after a setting change. Search-engine processing can take time; removal of noindex does not guarantee indexing or ranking.

When to ask for help

Stop if the change affects a critical workflow, requires access you do not have or produces a result you cannot explain. Keep the original evidence and a restorable backup. A short, well-defined repair request is easier to review than a series of speculative changes.

Related repair: request a scope review. Choose your platform on the request form; availability and price are confirmed before payment.
