THE WEBSITE WORKSHOP

Squarespace local SEO: make the service and location clear

A local business website needs to explain what you do and where you actually do it. That principle applies on Squarespace just as it does on other platforms.

Build a useful regional foundation

Make the contact details easy to find and keep the business name consistent. Describe the service area accurately. A page for a town should contain useful information for a customer there, not simply a repeated paragraph with a different heading.

Connect the website with the business profile

Use a verified Google Business Profile where the business is eligible, with the appropriate website destination. Check that the landing page supports the service being promoted. A profile and a website have related roles, but neither is a substitute for clear information or a reliable enquiry route.

A practical checklist

  • Use accurate contact and service-area details.
  • Check important page titles.
  • Link to the real business profile.
  • Add genuinely useful local examples.

What to do next

Start with one important page and one clearly defined problem. Keep a record of the original behaviour, make a controlled change and check the result. If you are not comfortable changing the site, the record gives a developer a useful starting point and makes the scope easier to agree.

A CHD website check can add public-page evidence to that conversation. The free result includes a score and up to three findings. The full $29 teardown includes the measured findings, practical guides, a private report and a PDF. Any repair work is reviewed and quoted before payment.
